HAZMAT Technician

Last week I went back to Anniston, Alabama for another week of training for the COBRA team. This class certified me to be a HAZMAT Technician. So I'm now in compliance with OSHA and CERCLA and can respond in to the hot zone of a HAZMAT incident. Only one more small hurdle to cross, the State of South Carolina does not recognize the Department of Homeland Security's certification so I need to take a similar class through the state Fire Academy to be able to actually respond to calls in South Carolina.

At the school I learned all about tankers, placards and containment techniques. We set up decon lines and practiced every thing in level A, B, and C suits. Here are some pictures taken during the final exercise.
